A Los Angeles-based acting coach who worked with teens pleaded not guilty on Monday to sexual assault and other charges brought against him.
According to Anita Busch with Deadline, Cameron Thor was arrested in June and held on $2.6 million bail:
The DA alleges that Thor gave the girl "a controlled substance … marijuana" and sexually assaulted her.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's office, the victim had consulted with Thor about taking acting classes. After one of those consults, Thor drove the girl to a secluded area in Agoura Hills, CA and sexually assaulted her. The assault took place in 2008. Their case was presented to the L.A. District Attorney office on Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Special Victims Bureau, and the Deputy District Attorney Simone Shay then filed the charges.
According to MyFoxLA, Thor faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, robbery and rape. The crimes reportedly took place over the course of a year from 2008-2009. Deputy Guillermina Saldana with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said the victim was 13 years old at the time of the assault.
Thor is a screenwriter and actor who has appeared in films including Jurassic Park, Windtalkers and Hook. According to Deadline, he currently runs Carter Thor Studio in Los Angeles where he works with young actors. Thor is scheduled to be back in court on August 1.
