Bravo has given the greenlight to a new show, Love Broker, in which two best friends — one a real estate agent, and one a matchmaker — set up male clients in New York City. It's not exactly "sign here and get an apartment and a girlfriend," but every now and then, it does happen: "Sometimes, after selling an apartment, we sign [the buyer] up to find their [life] partners," Love Broker's Jennifer Zucher says. The truth is, I suspect a lot of people wouldn't mind outsourcing this kind of stuff: Way way back in the day, we had limited choices in terms of living spaces — this cave or that one — and either you just hooked up with whomever wasn't your brother, or the elders told you where to live and who to hang with. Now we're so busy and the world is so big it's hard to figure all this shit out. Plus, real estate can be a major factor in love lives: Some people won't date other people based on their neighborhood/borough/commute time. Last night, Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, 90210 took a very ugly turn. When we found out that Russell Armstrong took his own life — and that Bravo would be airing almost everything that led up to that event — I was torn. Torn because these housewives had swiftly become my favorite and because it seemed indecent to air the fake events scripted for reality television for the entire world to see. Most of the season was Russell-free, but eventually he crept in, being creepy at a dinner party, making demands at his daughter's birthday party, and half-heartedly going through marriage counseling. But last night's episode was the worst yet — and I'm not sure I can look at these people the same way again. More »

Last night's season finale of The Real Housewives Of New Jersey featured an attack of Italian authenticity by Teresa Giudice on the Manzo family. In very first pages of her Italian family cookbook Fabulicious! (real name — seriously) Teresa writes, "Caroline Manzo is as Italian as the Olive Garden." She continues, "However, I am a fan of Caroline Manzo, even if she is only one sixteenth Italian, or whatever she is." Ouch!
