So much of the discussion of rape and violence against women centers on educating girls on how to protect themselves, so it's nice to know that, at least in a few schools, educators are going out of their way to talk to boys about their role in stopping sexual violence. All this is taking place in an after-school program called Men of Strength, or MOST, that aims to teach middle school boys that "they should be allies for girls and that violence is inexcusable." The Boy Scouts of America's Atlanta Council has launched a new campaign telling boys that that if they get drunk on squishee and accidentally join the Junior Campers, it won't be the end of the world. The Scouts teaches you to "Be One With The Wild," which will apparently make you the first boy in Fourth Grade with a long, healthy beard. The ads above are aimed at boys, and there's a beardless version for parents who don't want to tinker with their child's development of secondary sex characteristics. More »

The facts: Roughly half of adult males in the US are infected with HPV. Some strains, passed along to women through sexual contact, can cause cervical cancer. HPV can also increase the likelihood of penile or anal cancer in men, and can cause genital warts. The FDA has already approved the vaccine for boys. But the CDC is still deliberating over whether boys should get it. A significant decision in the process is expected at a meeting next month. More »
