Beyoncé Rumored To Be Joining Cast of Bradley Cooper-Directed A Star Is Born

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that every actor really wants to direct, and Bradley Cooper is no exception to the old cliche. According to Page Six, Cooper is moving ahead with his plan to direct A Star Is Born, a reboot of a reboot, and Beyoncé has reportedly joined the cast. “Beyoncé is a go,” a source told the paper. The original 1954 film starred Judy Garland though the 1976 campy remake, starring Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, is likely the most famous iteration of the story.

Via Page Six:

Beyoncé [is] reportedly been taking acting lessons and looking for “an iconic dramatic role.” She was originally said to be interested in the “A Star Is Born” remake when it was to be helmed by Cooper’s “American Sniper” director Clint Eastwood who then dropped out.

The unnamed source says that Cooper is currently casting the rest of the film though it will likely be a year or so before the movie even begins filming. Cooper is, apparently, desperately looking for the right acting project before beginning preproduction (apparently Aloha and Burnt didn’t serve him well). In addition to A Star Is Born, he’s also rumored to be directing a Robert DeNiro led movie titled Honeymoon With Harry.
