This past weekend, a pastor in Texas brought a bed up to the rooftop of his megachurch and sat in it with his wife for 24 hours. The pastor, Ed Young, decided to do the stunt to promote a new book he has called Sexperiment: 7 Days to Lasting Intimacy With Your Spouse. Young swore it wasn't a gimmick and said he was simply doing it to spread a message: "Bring God back into the bed." I guess it's easier for Him to find the bed if you're up on the roof? More »

A new study claims that women care what side of the bed they sleep on, but men usually don't, so women often get their way. Of course, the reason is evolution: "Men are naturally designed to want to protect their female partner and that means, more often than not, they will allow her to call the shots over ‘disputed territories' like preference for a certain side of the bed." It's true — in prehistoric times, men who allowed women to pick which side of the cave they slept on were rewarded with sex and therefore offspring. Men who insisted on picking a side themselves were usually eaten by dire wolves. More »

When our lease was up last month, my boyfriend and I flirted with the idea of moving to an apartment with separate bedrooms because of our sleep incompatibility. Basically, I like to stay up reading until the wee hours but the light from my lamp makes him want to bludgeon me. We couldn't afford anything nice with two bedrooms, but according to some new studies from the U.K. — oh, and that story in last month's Elle — we're not alone with our snoozing loserdom. The National Association of Homebuilders in Britain is predicting that by 2015, the majority of custom made homes will have his and hers master bedrooms. But what about life for us plebes who can't even manage a two bedroom squat?
