Balmain, for Bringing Back '80s Rich Bitch Realness

Houndstooth, gold chains, kicky skirts, dolman sleeves, strong shoulders: The spring 2014 collection for Balmain is decidedly ’80s.

Apparently designer Olivier Roustein played Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s “Relax (Don’t Do It)” to open the show, in case you have any doubts about which decade the quilted leather and poufy little skirts are referencing. It’s a bold, fun collection that also manages to have strong statement pieces… And it reminds me of the old school supermodels. Take a look:
