Baby Who Died After Being Thrown From Window Is Third One in Three Months

A six-month-old baby girl died after her mother allegedly threw her out of the window of their sixth-floor apartment in the Bronx. This is the third such incident to happen in New York City in just three months.

According to the New York Times, neighbors heard screaming coming from the apartment of Tenisha N. Fearon. The mother of four was yelling, “I’m going to throw the baby” and, “Hallelujah, praise God, we’re all going to die.” Fearon was seen dangling her youngest child from the window before throwing her. After police broke down the door of the apartment to get in, the baby was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Fearon was taken into custody and to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation. Her other children, ages four to 10, were placed with a child welfare agency.

Just two weeks ago, a 33-year-old woman named Jennifer Berry, also from the Bronx, was charged with murder after allegedly throwing her newborn baby out of a seventh-story window. In August, a woman in Queens had thrown her three-week-old from her fourth-story apartment, claiming he was possessed by the devil.
