Police in Chippenham, England are hunting for a woman who took off her high-heel and hit an ATM almost fifty times after using the machine for several minutes. The incident, which took place shortly after midnight on July 2, destroyed the keypad and screen. Few among us haven't wanted to beat an ATM with a shoe, and we predict a sharp increase in these crimes now that the public knows police are unable to simply look up the last card used in the machine. Here's some disturbing information: According to a British study, ATM keypads have as much bacteria as public toilets, and both contain bacteria known to cause human illnesses. A manufacturer of antibacterial products funded the research, but it's gross nonetheless. More »
