Frances Goldin is an 87-year-old literary agent and activist with a bold streak of purple in her otherwise grey hair. She's joined the Occupy Wall Street movement and has been protesting in Zuccotti Park, but she's not new to activism. She's been demonstrating in support of various social justice causes for decades and has been arrested for civil disobedience a whopping nine times! A soldier stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina has been arrested for the murder of Megan Lynn Touma, a pregnant solider who was found dead in a motel bathtub a little over a month ago. The connection or relationship that Touma had with the arrested solider, Sgt. Edgar Patino, has not been elaborated on by police (although a press conference is scheduled to take place today at 11 a.m.) but friends of Touma who were stationed with her in Germany say that Touma and Patino had dated and that he had even proposed to her before Touma learned he was already married.
