Anthony Weiner's Tearful, Interminable Sexting Confession

Latest

Anthony Weiner just spent nearly an hour in a press conference taking questions about his sexting habits. He said that was him in the gray underwear photo, he did mean to tweet it to Gennette Cordova, there have been six other women, and he won’t resign.

This was after Andrew Breitbart took the stage and hijacked Weiner’s press conference, saying he had an “x-rated photo” of Weiner that he wasn’t going to publish for the sake of Weiner’s family — unless of course Weiner kept saying bad things about him. Later, Weiner apologized to Breitbart by name. “I’m here for some vindication,” Breitbart said.

Weiner took full responsibility for his actions, including lying to everyone. “I have made terrible mistakes that have hurt the people I care about the most and I’m deeply sorry. I’ve not been honest with myself, my family, and my consituents.” He said he had engaged in consensual sexual talk over Facebook, Twitter, and by phone with six women.

“Some of it took place before my marriage. some took place after,” he said. “I have never met any of these women or had physical relationships [with them] at any time.”

Asked if he could dispute Breitbarts claims of an “x-rated photo,” Weiner said, “No, I cannot.”

His wife, Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, was nowhere in sight. “We have been through a great deal together and we will weather this,” Weiner said. “I love her very much and she loves me.” He added, “I’ve never had sex outside my marriage,” and “My wife is a remarkable woman. She’s not responsible for any of this.” And then he kept talking and talking and talking and talking.

Update: ABC News has interviewed one of the women, “Meagan Broussard, a 26-year-old single mother from Texas who provided dozens of photos, emails, Facebook messages and cell phone call logs that she says chronicle a sexually-charged electronic relationship with Weiner that rapidly-evolved for more than a month, starting on April 20, 2011.”
