Anna Wintour Didn't Put Kimye on Vogue, Grace Coddington Did

As it turns out, the person responsible for putting Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover of Vogue was not icy Anna “Nuclear” Wintour but flame-tressed not-so-crazy cat lady Grace Coddington.

As seen on Complex, the Financial Times reports that the magazine originally considered doing a wedding story with look-alikes, then committed to wrangling the soon-to-be bride and groom themselves.

Quoth Coddington: “I do think Kim Kardashian represents this moment in our culture. I’m fascinated by her, in the same way I’m fascinated by the people I see on the street or the subway.”
