Someone thinks Kate Middleton is a "young girl." Someone believes Kate and Prince William "decided" to get married "in front of the whole world," when it's fairly clear that they don't have a choice and didn't invite the global press outlets covering the nuptials. Someone wrote copy in which an innocent child asks of the royal wedding, "Will Matt, Meredith, Al and Ann be there?" Someone spent money on 30 seconds of utter nonsense. This morning on Today, while Meredith Vieira, Al Roker and Willie Geist were outside on the plaza, a man disrupted the show by trying to jump the barriers holding the crowd back and yelling out something like "God's gift to music!" Geist was describing a clip of video at the time, so the cameras didn't catch what was happening, but the audio is frightening. You can hear Vieira shout, "Oh, Jesus!" and then the sounds of a scuffle. Roker says, "Oh, dear!" Apparently NBC security and NYPD took the dude down. We thought heard the word "gun" — scary! But we're wont to freak out like that. Anyhow: Everyone is fine, and you can continue to get your "news" watered-down and cheerful as ever. More »

On this morning's Today show, he interviews the owner of an agency called Ugly Models, a place specializing in models who are not tall, lithe and fitting in with societal ideals. Obviously calling the place "ugly" is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but the way Roker and Today seem to be approaching the models is LOLZ! Look at the fat dude who is a model! Celebrity Family Feud debuted last night and it was awesome. My sister and I used to come home from swimming lessons in the summer and watch the back-to-back block of Family Feud and The Price Is Right, so this new trend of game shows returning to prime time is more than welcome. Last night it was Ice-T's family vs. Joan Rivers', and of course, many of the answers were sexual in nature. (The first answer out of Ice-T's mouth was "penis.") The second half of the show was Raven-Symoné's family vs. Wayne Newton's family. Now, I think it's wonderful that someone with a normal body like Raven's is a role model for little girls, but she's also an example of how the studio tutoring system is failing young stars.
