Airbnb Holds Creepy Contest to Sleep Overnight With Skeletons in the Paris Catacombs

Latest

Airbnb has teamed up with the Catacombs of Paris to offer the most deranged experience of a lifetime: the chance for two people to win an overnight stay inside the historic maze of skeleton-lined tunnels, on October 31.

The home rental website paid up to 350,000 euros, or roughly $450,000 to reserve the tunnels, reports Agence France-Presse. The listing boasts a “real bed,” so at least you won’t have to worry about dozing off atop a pile of bones. There’s also promise of a “dazzling culinary experience” and an intimate concert. Would the entertainment consist of someone playing the theremin or a surprise serenade from Drake? Sadly, Airbnb does not say.

The lucky (?) winners will even get a bedtime story. “A storyteller will have you spellbound with fascinating tales from the catacombs, guaranteed to produce nightmares,” the listing states. “Finally, enjoy dawn with the dead, as you become the only living person to ever wake up in the Paris catacombs.”

If spending the spookiest night of the year in an underground tomb surrounded by deceased human remains is your thing, all you have to do to enter is write a short story on the Airbnb website explaining why you think you’re brave enough to do so. The contest ends October 20.
