Jersey Councilwoman Duped By 'Blue Waffle' Vagina Urban LegendS

"Blue Waffle Disease" is a (rather lackluster, in this former sleepover party queen's opinion) urban myth about a STD that makes your vagina all scabby and, yes, blue; all it takes is a brief Google search to find that it's about as legit as that creepy "humans can lick too" campfire favorite.

But Trenton, New Jersey Councilwoman Kathy McBride didn't do any Googling. Instead, she asked the "young male caller" who warned her about the purported virus to brief her on it and presented that information at a meeting. Oy.

From the Trentonian:

It is a disease that's already claimed 85 lives and there is a case here in the City of Trenton," McBride explained. "Blue Waffle Disease is supposed to be a virus that is 10 times greater at this point that the AIDS virus."

McBride then stated she would like to speak to the health department about how many people have been affected with the disease in the city and if the community had been notified.

Blue Waffle Disease also flew over Business Administrator Sam Hutchinson's head.

"I don't have any specific information, but I will contact the director in the department," he said.

McBride was so certain that Blue Waffle Disease was a thing that when a reporter told her it was fake she said "No, it's not"and pulled up full-color photos (we don't recommend looking for them, although the color hue is almost pleasingly psychedelic) to prove her point. CRINGE.

By this point, she seems to know she's been duped, although she said that she still had "to go talk to the health department to get an official answer." You do that.
