Here's the thing about the fall 2013 collection by Proenza Schouler: I would never ever ever wear any of it, because even if they made it in my size, the amorphous shapes and neutral tones would look turrrrrible on me, but. But! I can appreciate creating clothes that actually seem new and modern and fresh, innovative ideas about how to get dressed. A lot of collections reference the past — Russian opulence or British riding habits or Spanish flamenco skirts — and these clothes are very now. I don't know what they're made of or how they fasten or what you call them (asymmetrical buttonless cocoon coat???) but I respect that they're showing me shit I've never seen before. What do you think?
