Before any questions could be asked at Beyonce's Super Bowl press conference this afternoon, the singer, who — as we all know — was busted for lip syncing the national anthem at the 2013 Inaugural Ceremony — busted out into an a cappella version of the Star Spangled Banner to, I dunno, prove that she could? Point taken, Beyonce! You sound great, but, as it turns out, you had nothing to prove. The press loves you so much that you probably could have stood up on the podium and bit off the head of Kelly Rowland and all they would say was that you looked gorgeous while doing it.

Of course, there were plenty of questions about the lip syncing, but they all had a pretty similar tone:

  • "Hi Beyonce, you sound great?
  • "Do you feel like we're taking away from your moment? Also, I'm really really sorry?"
  • "How you doin,' Beyonce? Are you happy?"
  • "You look beautiful?"
  • "What do you say to the haters?
  • Then there was this hard hitter: "What color is your toothbrush and why did you choose that color?"
  • (Answer: Beyonce's toothbrush is multicolored.)

There was one solid piece of information gleaned from the press conference. As for her performance at the Super Bowl, Beyonce says, "I will absolutely be singing live. This is what I was born to do."

At least we don't shy away from the tough questions — Beyonce, we forgive you and you're amazing. On a scale of perfect to the best half time show ever, how do you think Sunday will go?
