We'll All Be Able to Watch the Steubenville Rape Trial Go DownS

A judge ruled today that the media will be allowed in the courtroom when Steubenville High football players Trent Mays and Malik Richmond go to trial in March. Eek.

Prosecutors with the Ohio Attorney General's Office told Visiting Judge Thomas Lipps that the trial should be sealed to protect the victim. But lawyers for media outlets including the AP and CNN argued that the trial should be open for transparency's sake. Apparently the lawyers won.

According to the Toledo Blade, the alleged rape survivor, currently a high school student across the river in West Virginia, wanted the trial closed to the public so that she could keep her identity private. Looks like she's out of luck.
