Azealia Banks Celebrates Nineties Nostalgia with '1991'

Latest

Talk about striking while the iron is hot: at this rate, it seems like Azealia Banks is coming out with a new video each week. Here’s her newest release “1991,” which, in case you decrepit old grandmas didn’t know, is also the year that she was born. To the title’s credit, both the song and video have an incredibly nineties vibe. And that black background/reflective desk shot? Very Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay.”

Sure, one could complain about overexposure, but, honestly, I am so excited about young women like Banks who have taken over the music scene in these past few years that I can’t even be bothered.
