Bluewater Productions, the company that has produced comic books about Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga, Betty White, as well as Hillary Clinton and some other notable politicians, has a new subject: RuPaul.
According to a press release, what was originally conceived as a comic book will be eplanded into a 40-page graphic novel, out in late September. The story "follows the self-described 'Supermodel of the World' from his time as a time as a struggling musician and dancer through his first big break as a gender-bending drag queen in the B52s 'Love Shack' music video."
Having a man dressed as a woman is an interesting choice for the Female Force series, and Bluewater president Darren G. Davis says: "[RuPaul] is comfortable in his own skin and is happy to let anyone within earshot know that. The fact he chooses his public persona to be female, emphasizes that he stays true to his own concept of self. And that solidifies RuPaul as a female force."
Okay! Let's hope Ru is amused; Bluewater's books are basically unauthorized biographies and both Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber threatened to sue.
