HBO's Girls is over now, and that's either a thing you don't care at all about because you spent late spring and early summer not forming an opinion on popular culture, or it's the worst thing to ever happen to you because you're Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York. Though you'd imagine that Mayor Bloomberg would have been busy trying to annex the Morlock Kingdom under the New York streets before summer turned the subway tunnels into giant pizza ovens, he's apparently been following Lena Dunham's television program. Said Bloomberg, speaking to the inimitable New York Post, "We love the show for inspiring people to move to New York City and become the ‘voice of a generation,' as Hannah would say."
As the kids would say, it's a humdinger of a show, by golly. One caveat to Bloomberg's Girls fanhood — he's a noted television abstainer, which means that he's lying about watching Girls just so he can seem hip and relatable to the City Hall worker bees.
