Slimane is renaming Yves Saint Laurent "Saint Laurent Paris," though the YSL logo will remain, and is moving the company's creative headquarters from Paris to Los Angeles. "I'm very happy," says the notoriously cantankerous Bergé. "I am happy that Stefano Pilati is gone, just as I was happy when Tom Ford left." But how does one define a fascinator, exactly — the ones like these feather-y contraptions first popularized in America after they appeared on Kate Middleton's locks? The races' official definition refers to headpieces that "do not have a base covering a sufficient area of the head," with said "sufficient area" specified as four inches, or 10 centimeters. Fletcher, meanwhile, prefers this definition, uttered with palpable distaste: "I regard fascinators as a couple of feathers and a small veil."
