Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was nearly killed after she was shot in the head at point blank range in 2011. Eventually, she resigned her seat in a tear-soaked moment on the floor of the US House. But that retirement may not have been permanent.
Giffords' husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, told Politico that she was seriously considering returning to work as a public servant.
Kelly said he wasn't sure that Giffords would try her hand again at elected office per se (she may just seek to work alongside the public in one of the government's less bullshitty roles), but one thing's for sure: Gabrielle Giffords is not a woman to be trifled with, and I haven't ruled out the theory that she weas sent back in time from the future to warn us about SkyNet.
