President Obama Encourages Female College Grads to be 'Stylish and Powerful'

Your gay BFF President Barack Obama delivered the commencement address at the all-women's Barnard College today. During his speech, he encouraged the Class of 2012 to focus on their own personal improvement rather than the "beauty and fashion" obsessed pop culture that surrounds them, but added an important caveat: just because you're powerful doesn't mean you can't be stylish. That's what Michelle Obama would say, at least.

In addition to encouraging women to follow the example of the First Lady, Obama also told graduates that they should never give up,

Whether it's starting a business, running for office, or raising an amazing family, remember that making your mark on the world is hard. Whenever you feel that creeping cynicism, … whenever somebody tells you to set your sights lower, the trajectory of this country should give you hope.

So, graduates, tell the Kardashians that you're tired of keeping up; they can go on ahead to wherever they're going without you and just send a letter when they get there. By order of the President.
