Here's a video of Jesse Lee Peterson, frequent Fox News guest and vocal Tea Party supporter, saying some really nutty stuff about how women are ruining everything. If you're like me and get great joy out of watching out-of-touch Neanderthals embarrass themselves, you'll love this video.
Think Progress found the best quotes from the 12-minute ramble:
I think that one of the greatest mistakes that America made was to allow women the opportunity to vote. We should have never turned that over to women. It was a big mistake…these women are voting in the wrong people. They're voting in people who are evil, who agree with them…Men in the good old days understood the nature of the women, they were not afraid to deal with them. Wherever women are taking over, evil reigns.
Hard to argue with that sort of evidence. Women did cause both world wars and are responsible for 100% of rapes. In societies where women outnumber men, women roam the streets committing violent acts because they're not getting enough sex. (Whoops— it's actually men who did and do all these things. Although I thought we were done with the whole Boys Against Girls thing after sixth grade spelling bees.)
Peterson's apparently not going anywhere, as he's Sean Hannity's black friend (the "black friend" Hannity can use as defense against saying really racist shit), and so even after Peterson made his stupid video of a sermon about how women are eeee-ville, Hannity continued to invite him to guest on his show. This resulted in a really awkward exchange between Peterson and female panel member Kirsten Powers, which sounds almost funcomfortable enough to coax me into watching one second of Hannity's incoherent dumb guy show. Almost.
