Alexander Skarsgard Is "Born to Play" the Lead in 50 Shades of GreyS

True Blood actor and golden drip of Swedish honey Alexander Skarsgard has thrown his name in the ring for the role of Christian Grey in the recently greenlit film adaptation of E.L. James' erotic and elaborate Twilight tribute 50 Shades of Grey.

Skarsgard had never heard about the 50 Shades series prior to the Battleship press conference where he was asked whether or not he would be interested in playing the leading man, a 27-year-old billionaire with hair of copper, a heart of gold and a strong taste for BDSM. After having the ins-and-outs of the story explained to him, Skarsgard, no stranger to over the top sex scenes, jumped on board:

"Where do I sign? He's got a sex chamber? My character [Eric Northman] has that on ‘True Blood.' He's got his little dungeon. I was born to play that part."

Skarsgard joins a long list of names, including Ian Somerhalder, Chris Pine and Michael Fassbender, being tossed around for the role.

Clutchers of pearls and havers of taste, prepare your scowl faces. As for the rest of you, start your vagina engines.
