If you're looking for a fun night out on the town in Weston, Florida, you're going to have to search high and low. Thanks to a new city ordinance, nightclubs, dance halls, and skating rinks have been banned for eternity. Surely you've heard of the evil that roller skating invites? Yeah. Fortunately, school dances will still be allowed, and kids can also go hang out at the YMCA—not exactly a dance club, but it will do in a pinch!
So why the anti-party stance? Well, these types of businesses attract large crowds and cause traffic, noise, and crime problems. Fair enough, but isn't giving people nowhere to do anything fun going to cause its own problems when people get bored and start to stir up trouble? We shall see, but in the meantime if residents of the city get truly desperate, they can go to nearby Davie or Pembroke Pines to bust a move or get their slow skate on.
