Some of us are still trying to process everything from last night's Mad Men premiere, but thanks to the expert performance of Jessica Paré, virtually all of us spent the day with Megan's version "Zou Bisou Bisou" running through our heads. That scene transformed Paré from Don's secretary to a full-blown star, and she did a conference call today to talk to the world about what it's been like becoming Don's wife. When asked about the very, ahem, memorable sex scene the two shared on the white carpet, Paré said,

Is there really any problem that can't be solved that way? The way I saw it is that Megan is Don's equal in a lot of ways. One of the ways that she has some kind of power over him is that they are such a great match sexually and physically. I think that this is sort of her trying to regain her upper hand in that sense.

That's some interesting insight into Don and Megan's relationship, which she says is only going to get more complicated:

It's not a show about everyone having what they want and just being happy. There will be some friction between them, and I think the seeds of it are pretty well sewn in the first episode. . . . Definitely [Megan] is a lighter person. She has more light to her than most of the characters in this show. There's a lot of sarcasm and darkness in [Don's] character.

She even gave up a tidbit which might be enough to keep us going all season. When asked whether Megan has any encounters with Betty, the former Mrs. Draper, Paré says coyly,

I can't speak too much about what's going to come in this season but, yeah, I've worked a little bit with everyone.

Yesss. It's enough to make you want to rub your hands together in anticipation all the way until next Sunday.
