Noted French predator Dominique Strauss-Kahn seems to have a real knack for getting himself into unsavory sexual situations, and he seems to have an even greater skill for avoiding charges for said acts. Well, today France finally managed to make something stick to the slippery dick. They've charged him with "aggravated pimping," in connection with his alleged involvement in a prostitution ring in Lille, France. You may remember back in February, when Strauss-Kahn was first detained by police, his lawyer ridiculously claimed that his client was not aware the women he was attending sex parties with were prostitutes because, "at these kinds of parties you're not always dressed, and I challenge you to distinguish a naked prostitute from any other naked woman." One way to distinguish them, it seems, is if they require money to sleep with you.
Prostitution itself isn't illegal in France, but you're not allowed to profit from prostituting another person; hence the pimping charge DSK is now facing. Also, authorities are trying to determine whether corporate funds were used to pay for the prostitutes. All in all, this is obviously a very classy operation that DSK was involved in, but thankfully it seems to have come to an end for the moment because he is now forbidden to speak with anyone else involved in the investigation. Though he is out on bail (a cool 100,000 euros) so, knowing him, it's entirely possible that he'll end up in yet another sex scandal before this current matter is dealt with.
