MIT Offers Awesome Classes to Give Nerds Social Skills

Nerds may be able to let their freak flags fly in the protected confines of the MIT campus, but the same can't necessarily be said for the real world. That's why the school has wisely been offering something called "Charm School" for its students. CBS Sunday Morning went inside this elective day of classes that covers everything from table manners to how to dress for success to being socially graceful, and it actually seems pretty awesome. Sure, this kind of training might be especially useful for socially awkward smartypants, but the a large number of us could actually benefit from relearning these basics. After all, it starts with the deterioration of table manners, and pretty soon we've slid down the dangerously slippery slope to where we've got Congressmen calling the President a liar during the State of the Union and grown men freely calling women sluts on the radio. Here we all thought MIT was going to save us by inventing the next great source of energy, but maybe they're actually here to save us from ourselves.
