Cate Blanchett Is Rightly Terrified of Plastic SurgeryS

Cate Blanchett and her flawless, porcelain skin are afraid of going under the knife, a fear that most likely stems from too many late-night viewings of old Nip/Tuck episodes. Says the Australian actress of younger actresses who rearrange their faces through surgical procedures or Botox injections,

I'm not sitting on a soapbox telling women what they should and shouldn't do. I just know what works for me. I'd be too frightened about what it means long-term. Looking at women in their 20s doing this stuff, in the end all you see is the work. It doesn't fill me with admiration; it fills me with pity.

It is indeed pitiable that already beautiful young women would feel the professional pressure to modify their features to fit some mythical aesthetic ideal, but, rigorous as Blanchett's skincare regimen may be, her skin is naturally pretty extraordinary, already in-line with Hollywood's idea of perfection.
