J.K. Rowling has signed a deal with publishing house Little, Brown Book Group and will soon be releasing a new novel, this time for adults. Unfortunately for all the smut-fic lovers out there, the Boy Who Lived will not be making any grown-up cameos.
Although I've enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world. The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life.
Look, Jo. I get that you're ready to move away from the Potter franchise and, really, as fans, we can't ask for much more after you dedicated so much of yourself and your time to bringing Harry's world to life. All I'm suggesting is that there are fans out there (me) who would give all the bones in their arm (my arm) for a Marauders prequel (I would. I would do this). Just think about it.
