Swedish Hospital Says It's Only Looking to Hire Hot Nurses

Sure, there's the fantasy of a sexy nurse giving you a sponge bath, but would you actually want a hot nurse tending to you in an emergency room? Is attractiveness the number one quality you want in a nurse who's doing things like shoving a catheter up into your gentles or cleaning your gaping head wound? That's probably going to be the farthest thing from your mind, but that's exactly what one hospital in Sweden is after. Stockholm South General Hospital placed a job ad saying it was looking to hire a particular kind of nurse:

You will be motivated, professional and have a sense of humor. And of course, you will be TV-series hot or a Söder hipster. Throw in a nurse's education and you are welcome to seek a summer job at Södersjukhuset's emergency department.

Oh, TV-series hot? Screw that! I only want to be cared for by nurses who are movie hot. But seriously, it's nice how actually being qualified as a nurse is the last thing on the list. The hospital's nursing manager, Jörgen Andersson, insists that they really just looking for people who are qualified for the job:

We think that people understand that it was written to catch people's attention. There's been no negative feedback. Being good-looking is no requirement at all. We put out an ad looking for interest and we got a great response. We want a nurse who is qualified and good at their job, regardless of looks.

Interesting approach, Mr. Andersson. I'm sure it did catch people's attention, but is that the kind of attention that's going to get you the type of people you want caring for stabbing victims and injured children in their hour of need? Ho hum. If nothing else, the ad will probably guarantee that a steady stream of men will flood into the emergency room all summer seeking treatments for their imaginary ailments, so at least the hot nurses they do hire will be kept busy.
