Rick Santorum, Health Expert, Touts Made Up Link Between Breast Cancer and Abortions

Sweatervest militia extremist Rick Santorum has a message for America: Susan G. Komen for the Cure should not be providing any sort of support to Planned Parenthood, because abortion causes breast cancer. Good grief. Does he also think that eating orange M&M's will kick his tits up a cup size? Or that stepping on a crack will break his mother's back? Please, please, please shut up, Rick Santorum.

Quoth the guy who is never, ever, ever going to be President,

I don't believe breast cancer research is advanced by funding an organization that does abortions where you've seen ties to cancer and abortions. So I don't think it's a particularly healthy way of contributing money to further the cause of breast cancer, but that's for private organizations like Susan G. Komen to make that decision.

Oh, Rick. Where to even start with you?

First, abortion does not cause breast cancer, according to science. Unfortunately for Rick Santorum, science is not dictated by what Rick Santorum wishes science was; it's dictated by research like the 2007 study involving more than 10,000 women that found that there was no link between abortion and breast cancer.

Second, 3% of what Planned Parenthood does is abortion services. To provide a point of reference, 16% of what Planned Parenthood does is cancer screening.

At this point, what would have to happen for Rick Santorum— or anyone who buys his particular brand of bull— to agree with facts as they are laid out in front of him? Would Jesus Christ himself have to ascend from heaven with three forms of identification including a long-form birth certificate to say, "Rick, I gave humans brains so that they can use them."? Would Rick have to have a Contact-like experience where he's transported to another planet? Would there be a love scene with Matthew McConaughey?

While there is no link between breast cancer and abortions, there is a link between dying during childbirth and pregnancy, and yet you don't see Santorum appearing on Sunday morning talk shows warning viewers of the dangers of getting pregnant. The man's a lost cause. I just can't with him anymore.
