Badass 85-Year-Old Woman Saves Her Husband From Moose Attack

One moose in Alaska sure picked the wrong woman to mess with-and it got the surprise of al lifetime when a tiny 85 year old woman came flying at it with a shovel. Here's how it went down: Dorothea Taylor was waiting in her truck one day when her husband of 40 years, George Murphy, went to get their dogs. She heard the dogs bark loudly, and when she went to investigate, she saw a moose hitting something with its hooves.

She thought it was trying to kill one of her dogs, so she went to get a shovel out of her truck, and swung at the moose! She got him off of the dog, and then she combined forces with another dog, and managed to get the moose to back up. It was then that she looked down and saw that the moose hadn't been after the dog at all, it had just been hitting the dog to get to George, who was lying on the ground, bleeding from the head.

George, who is 82, was taken to the hospital in Anchorage. He's got a huge cut in his head, and a few broken ribs, but he's basically doing fine. He's mighty proud of Dorothea, saying "Jeez, that was a pretty hard thing for anyone to do, to walk up on a moose like that. Heck, all she had was a shovel." Very hard indeed, and it's even more impressive when you find out that Dorothea doesn't even weigh 100 pounds. Hopefully that damn moose has learned that it should stick to picking on things its own size.
