You might think that movie stars spend hours each day staring at their naked bodies in the mirror, either because they are transfixed by the sight of their own silky skin or because they know they'll have to be naked on-screen in front of millions of people and need to make sure every inch of them looks it's best. But apparently that isn't the case—at least not for Carey Mulligan. In an interview about her new movie, Shame, she says she's nothing like the exhibitionist character she plays:
I tend to clamp up on camera, but this meant working with no inhibitions. I mean, I don't wear a bikini on the beach. I walk around my house in pyjamas. I haven't seen myself naked in the mirror for probably a decade. I'm very prudish.
Wow, that seems completely impossible! She is only 26, which means she last saw herself naked when she was only 16? That may be crazy, but it must be a genetic trait. When asked if her family walks around naked, she said, "No, no, no, no, no, no. I would scream if I saw any of my family naked, and vice versa."
