Glenn Beck is worried that in the month since his Fox show was canceled we've forgotten that he's a blathering nutjob and all around horrible person. That's the only explanation we can come up with for Beck comparing the Norway Labor Party camp where 68 people were shot last week to the Hitler Youth. On his radio show, Beck said:
"There was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like, you know, the Hitler youth. I mean, who does a camp for kids that's all about politics? Disturbing."
Yeah, who does that?
The Washington-based Coalition to Stop Gun Violence called the remark "absolutely disgusting," and Beck has won some international condemnation as well. Torbjørn Eriksen, a former press secretary to Norway's prime minister, responded:
"Young political activists have gathered at Utoya for over 60 years to learn about and be part of democracy, the very opposite of what the Hitler Youth was about. Glenn Beck's comments are ignorant, incorrect and extremely hurtful."
Well, that is Beck's trademark.
