Journalist Mac McClelland witnessed a rape victim's trauma in Haiti, and was later diagnosed with PTSD. She writes, "under the circumstances, violent sex wasn't a matter of recreation for me. It was a way, one way, to help get better." Her description of the (consensual) encounter that helped her heal is raw and may be triggering for some, but it's moving to read how the experience helped her rediscover her own strength.
