Glee Adds Real Live Women To Writing StaffS

Thank Zeus: Glee has hired new writing staff. For the past two seasons, co-creators/executive producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan have been writing every episode by themselves. Deadline Hollywood notes: "Glee ended up producing 44 episodes over 2 seasons written by 3 people, a feat pretty unheard of in today's TV business." The good news is that a couple of the new hires are actual women. One is Marti Noxon, who worked on Mad Men, Grey's Anatomy and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. They've also hired Allison Adler, who worked on Chuck and No Ordinary Family. Since the show has so many female characters, our hopes are high. This move comes after Matthew Morrison revealed that often, scripts were written at the last minute, and the actors were being handed pages on-set while filming. Guess what? It showed. Julia Roberts is allegedly "disgusted" by her half-sister, Nancy Motes, who weighs over 300 lbs. Allegedly! Julia thinks it's humiliating for her and the entire family and makes comments about Nancy's weight behind her back. According to the National Enquirer: "When Nancy got wind of what Julia was saying, she confronted her, telling her to shut up and leave her alone. Julia shot back, 'Well, I wouldn't have to if you had enough self-respect to lose some weight!' At which point, Nancy told Julia to ‘go fuck herself.'" As always, consider the source. Here's a snippet of Entertainment Weekly's new cover story, "Why I'm Obsessed with Ryan Reynolds, by Ryan Reynolds": "Reynolds is careful not to get too self-righteous, and is not one of those finger-wagging celebrities telling you how to live your life. He prefers to put the word out quietly, through the exciting mediums of interpretive dance and Japanese hand fans." [EW]
