A 28-year-old woman in Oakland, California was able to use her cell phone to record video of a man breaking into her apartment, just moments before he sexually assaulted her. Police have recently released the footage of her attacker in the hopes that it will aid in locating the man.

The video shows no physical violence, but knowing what will happen as soon as the camera shuts off makes the footage that much more difficult to watch. That said, in a week where we've all been reminded of what can go wrong in digital media, it's important to remember that every now and then it can, we hope, help.
