It only took about twenty-four hours for the name of the household employee who had a child with Arnold Schwarzenegger to be revealed.
The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times have not named her for unexplained reasons, while ABC News and numerous others have; given that there is no suggestion, evidence, or charge of coercion, we're referring to her name, Mildred Patricia Baena, as we would, say, Rielle Hunter's or Monica Lewinsky's. (Yeah, there's a canon now.) According to the Times, Baena worked in the Schwarzenegger home throughout her pregnancy, overlapping with Maria Shriver's pregnancy with her youngest son. Baena's son is fourteen; ABC News blurred out his face but did show long blond locks.
One can expect only partial restraint from TMZ. They have reported that "in the late '90s Patty [as Baena is known] began to 'pursue Arnold.' She told friends they would have unprotected sex during the day at the house. Patty never slept overnight at the house and no one ever caught them in the act." She also allegedly didn't tell Schwarzenegger the child was his until he was a toddler. Baena has three other children and is married. TMZ says, "We are not revealing the identity of the boy, however his features are eerily like Arnold's." They're all about observing journalistic ethics, if not comma usage rules.
Radar reports that contrary to accounts that Baena retired in January, she actually was fired four weeks ago. They claim Baena threatened to go public with the news, which is the only reason Schwarzenegger told Shriver.
This child is not to be confused with the one born to a flight attendant that worked for Schwarzenegger, Tammy Tousignant, with whom he allegedly had an affair. A lawyer for that woman told Radar that she had had a paternity test done that confirmed Schwarzenegger was not the father.
