You know how if a girl is hot enough, it is okay that she's not a virgin? This is also true of cars. Witness the above ad (at left) wherein Canadian car dealer Dale Wurfel compares their used cars to used women — but sexy ones, so it's okay. AdFreak points out that BMW tried a similar gambit in 2008 (at right). And Gwen Sharp of Sociological Images writes,
I suppose someone could argue that the message that you shouldn't "care" whether your women/cars are "used" rejects the sexual double standard, but the objectification and the implication that non-virgin women are "used" undermine any apparent rejection of that double standard.
