Beetle-Covered Gown Returned To Former Glory

Latest

This gown worn by famous actress Ellen Terry for her 1888 portrayal of Lady Macbeth was covered in all-natural sequins: 1000 jewel beetle wings. (Don’t worry, the insects shed them.) Recently restored at a cost of £50,000 and 1,300 painstaking hours, the gown is now on display at Smallhythe Place, Kent.
