Autopsy Reports Reveal Details Of Arizona Shooting

Latest

Yesterday autopsy reports for the six people killed in the Arizona shooting were released, though lawyers from both sides had said making the reports public could hurt Jared Lee Loughner’s chances for a fair trial. The documents show three victims were shot in the head, and 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green died from a single shot that hit her her heart and kidney. Each of the 31 rounds Loughner is accused of firing hit someone in the crowd.

Yesterday prosecutors asked a judge to have Loughner tested to determine if he’s mentally competent to stand trial. Defense attorneys also requested that the court push the trial from September 2011 to late 2012, saying they need more time to “gain an understanding of the depth of Mr. Loughner’s mental afflictions and their impact on his functioning in the world.”
