Sarah Palin Says Kathy Griffin's Just A "50-Year-Old Bully"

Latest

In a recent Fox News interview, Sarah Palin responded to the news that in an episode of Glee that airs next week, Kathy Griffin plays a sectionals judge described as a “recent Tea Party candidate and home schooler — a Sarah Palin type.” Palin says Kathy’s, “A 50-year-old adult bully, a has-been comedienne.”

Of course the Mama Grizzly just wants Kathy to lay off her kids, “as she had stated on CNN that her New Year’s resolution was to destroy my 16-year-old daughter.” What Kathy said was, “I’ve already gone for Sarah, Todd and Bristol obviously, but I think it’s Willow’s year to go down.” It sounds more like a joke than a serious threat, but Palin usually assumes her family is being victimized since they’re treated so unfairly in the media.

It’s hard to predict how vicious Kathy’s Glee role will be. The show has made jokes about Sarah Palin, but previously creator Ryan Murphy suggested that he was interested in being more sensitive to conservatives this season. He said:

“We’ve taken a couple jabs at the right wing this year … So what I want to do with this character is have someone who Christian kids and parents can recognize and say, ‘Oh, look – I’m represented there, too!’ If we’re trying to form a world of inclusiveness, we’ve got to include that point of view as well.”

Murphy wasn’t referring to Griffin’s character but a “perky New Directions addition” we haven’t met yet who’s intolerant of Kurt’s homosexuality. Since Kathy’s no stranger to Republicans taking offense to her act, we already know how she’ll respond to Palin. As she told Elisabeth Hasselbeck when during her unsuccessful attempt to make the comedian uncomfortable on The View, “This moment is what I live for, so bring it.”
