Lindsay Accused Of Stealing Necklace She's Been Wearing

  • Lindsay Lohan — who is being accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from the Kamofie & Company jewelry store in Venice — can allegedly be seen on surveillance video taking said necklace from said store.

Well, that can't be good! The necklace (which you can see around Lindsay's neck in the photo above, if you squint) has since been recovered — a friend of LL's turned it in to the police — and Lindsay is saying this is all a miscommunication. See, she borrowed the necklace. [Radar Online]

  • Michael Lohan says: "Lindsay never stole a necklace." Thank you, sir, for clearing that up. [Radar Online]
  • Lindsay is telling people that she was told by the owner of the store that she could take the necklace on loan and wear it for a while. The surveillance video doesn't have audio, so it won't prove anything one way or the other. Furthermore, the peeps at the store knew where she lived and how to get in touch with her — yet never contacted her about the necklace. [TMZ]
  • "Sources connected with the Lindsay Lohan necklace caper tell TMZ ... they believe Lindsay was tipped off after the judge signed the search warrant yesterday ... and she returned the jewelry before her house could be raided." [TMZ]
  • According to this report, the jewelry store reported the necklace missing and stolen right after Lindsay left the store, and worked with police on the case. A source spills: "Investigators wanted to see if Lindsay was going to wear the necklace in question… The store owner worked with cops, and Lindsay was caught on camera several days ago wearing the necklace. It was after that picture was discovered that cops went to the judge to get the search warrant." So… Was she set up? Did she shoplift? Why does drama follow her? Will the year of the rabbit be better for poor LL? [Radar Online]
