Marilyn Monroe‘s image has already been associated with 1,975 different products over the past 20 years. She posthumously signed 140 licensing deals last year alone. What this deal means is that Marilyn Monroe licensing will get even bigger: expect to see her pictures on more billboards and ads and more “Marilyn Monroe” branded clothing and accessories. Marilyn can even be digitally re-animated to appear in commercials and films. Let it never be said that mere death is any impediment to commerce. [WWD]
