100,000 Dead Fish In Arkansas Raise Suspicions Of Biblical Plague

Latest

Days after thousands of dead birds dropped from the sky in Beebe, Arkansas, 100,000 dead fish have washed up on the shores of the Arkansas River. Looks like it’s time to stock up on canned goods and tinfoil hats!

The dead drum fish were discovered along a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River near Ozark. CNN reports:

State spokesman Keith Stephens suggests a disease may have killed off the fish. “The fish kill only affected one species of fish,” he says. “If it was from a pollutant, it would have affected all of the fish, not just drum fish.”

As for the birds, state game officials say they’ll start conducting tests today to determine why 5,000 fell out of the sky over the weekend. Experts say there’s no connection between the dead fish and the dead birds, but we expect they’ll change their tune once it starts raining frogs.
