Rihanna Says Chris Brown Assault Was A "Wake Up Call"

  • In the December issue of Marie Claire UK, Rihanna says that she doesn't regret what happened between herself and Chris Brown back in 2009.

"God has a crazy way of working, and sometimes when stuff happens you feel like, 'What did I do to deserve this?' Why was it backfiring on me?'" she says. "But I needed that wake-up call in my life. I needed a turning point, and that's what God was giving to me." She also says: "I remember I was in New York at the Trump Hotel and I woke up and I just knew I was over it. It was a different day. I felt different. I didn't feel lonely. I felt like I wanted to get up and be in the world. That was a great, great feeling." [Us Magazine]

  • "I was in Baja the day before yesterday and there was a beautiful full moon that came up outside my room, an autumn harvest moon I could see out of the window of the place we were staying. And I could hear it come up — ping! — and there it was getting bigger and bigger and rounder and rounder. And I was so filled of joy and so at peace, so full of awe and wonder. [I called my son] Wyatt, and I said, 'You've got to see the moon. It's big and orange. It's pulsating! It's amazing.' The next day, he said, 'Mom, I thought you were stoned!' I said, 'No, I wasn't. I was ecstatic. It's different.'" — Goldie Hawn. [USA Today]
