Plus-Size Models Sequestered To Plus-Size Runway ShowsS

It's awesome that plus-size models have been hired to walk in a fashion show during Fashion Week. Unfortunately, it seems they're isolated to a plus-size show, organized by Nancy Le Winter, editorial director at OneStopPlus.com.

There is certainly a triumph in having a the first plus-sized runway show in New York Fashion Week history. But there's something sinister about relegating the plus-size models to one show, when the straight-size models are walking in 10 or 12 shows a day. We'll have to keep an eye on whether or not any of the big name designers sprinkle plus-size models into their shows. For now, it's hard to get too excited about this Fashion Week first when it sounds like something that won't last.
