Lindsay Lohan Is In Jail, But Won't Be There For Long

  • Lindsay Lohan arrived at Lynwood Correctional Facility to begin serving her 90-day jail sentence today, but according to a Sheriff's Department spokesman, she'll be out in 13 or 14 days.
  • Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says, "Her projected release date is Aug. 1 or Aug. 2." Due to overcrowding, non-violent inmates only serve 25% of their sentence. With good behavior her sentence will be reduced 51 days, and a quarter of that is about 13 days. Whitmore says the jail was "on lockdown" as Lindsay was processed this morning, and she's been "extremely cooperative." [LAT, People]
  • Lindsay showed up to court wearing jeans, a cropped jacket, and a weird corset/belt. [TMZ]
  • Somebody threw confetti at Lindsay as she was walking up the courthouse steps and a fan held a sign that said, "Free Lindsay." Both of her parents were in court and as she left the courtroom, Michael Lohan said, "We love you, Lindsay." [People]
  • Afterward, Michael Lohan's lawyer told the press, "Michael spent the morning praying for his daughter. He doesn't believe she should be incarcerated. He is devastated she is going to jail and he is ready and able to help her at any time." [Us]
  • Dina Lohan says she didn't attend Lindsay's last hearing because Michael was going, and she didn't want to make things worse by having him get arrested for violating their restraining order. [TMZ]
  • The Mel Gibson tapes may never end. Today a sixth recording was released in which Oksana Grigorieva says, "You hit me, and you hit her (Lucia) while she was in my hands! Mel, you're losing your mind. You need medication." Mel replies, "I want my child, and no one will believe you." [Radar]
  • According to the police report, Mel allegedly hit Oksana twice and choked her while she was holding the baby. Then he pulled a gun and pointed it at her 12-year-old son (who saw the whole attack), himself and Oksana, threatening to kill them all in a murder-suicide. [Radar]
  • Jennifer Aniston got a restraining order against a man believed to be stalking her. Jason Peyton was found on July 15 "laying-in-wait in a location he believes she frequents with a sharp object, a bag, a roll of duct tape and written messages about [Aniston]." He was arrested and placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold. According to police documents, he has a history of violence and criminal stalking and thinks he's in a relationship with Jen. Scary stuff! [TMZ]
  • Ice-T was stopped in NYC for not wearing a seat belt, then arrested for driving on a suspended license. He Tweeted that he has a valid license and the charges are a "lie." [AP]
  • Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are having a hard time shopping their reality show because they networks want them to do a pilot, but they want a commitment for an entire series. [People]
  • A sports marketing firm wants to work with Elin Nordegren for unknown reasons. "They are trying to get her to be a personality, get her endorsement deals, get her a talk show, really anything they can try and come up with that she will want to go for," says a source. [E!]
  • Glenn Beck announced to a crowd on Saturday that he's been diagnosed with macular dystrophy and could lose his eyesight in the next year. He took the opportunity to joke, "So, I went to the best doctor I could find – while I could still go the best doctor I could find," then started crying and said, "Lord if you need my eyes, they're yours."
